Let’s continue with the part 2 of my super hero products round up following yesterday’s post, shall we?
On the make up front, a bold lip has been in trend for the past two years. An instant way to say – here I am, stronger than ever – You can go bold red or bold berry, maybe burgundy, in my opinion all gives you a sudden pick me up and there is a shade for all skin tones.
Au natural base, just mascara and a bold lip to make a statement. Looking cool with very little effort, that sounds good to me 🙂
Mac Plumful (Lustre) is the perfect shade for almost everyone and a good step up to the bold lip trend. Low maintenance on the lips, you don’t even need a mirror to put it on and that’s why I love it so much.
And a fairly new launch of fantastic Nars Audacious Lipsticks. They have the most chic packaging, the best bold lip formula and the coolest shades of all times (40 shades!!). I have only one yet (Bette) as they’re quite pricey. Next time I’m feeling spendy I have my eyes on the Audrey or Vivien or both, oh god!
One additional product that needs to be squeezed in here is the super hero lip balm. My savior on the coldest months – Nuxe Reve de Miel Ultra Nourishing lip balm in a pot – If you haven’t tried it, you’re missing a lot! But the stick version is not as good, go for the pot! Will give you the softest lips over night.
And hands are mirror of our well being I think. They are all out there, with a lot of hand gestures, big part of body language. We need to show them love, sweet love.
Although I don’t remember the last time I had a salon manicure, I do my own manicure on a lazy Sunday evening. A very practical one ! Trim, file, hand cream to soften cuticles and nail polish. I always go with Kiehl’s Ultimate Strength Hand Salve. A real deal, does the job way better than any. If you have very dry hands that you struggle with, try this one, wouldn’t disappoint you.
When it comes to nail polishes, I am in love with the brand – Essie – Really good quality, dries quick, lasts long, good shade selection. Bahama Mama is my all time favorite a warm, rich plum colour, Thigh High is a very festive option, Ballet Slippers is the best pale pink shade I came across and Jump in my Jumpsuit is the best classic red out there. Angora Cardi is a great one too, deep dusty rose colour. I have been asked what I have on my nails wearing for all these shades in random times and places so I believe they are unique in their own way.
As we covered nails and lips – easy way to add touch of colour to your day to day.
Let’s move on to the ‘body’. To my one and only body product that is perfect all year long, smells divine and keeps your skin soft without any additional steps after shower, no need for a body butter or moisturizer. And it is L’Occitane Almond Shower Oil. I highly recommend this one. Practical to have multi tasking products and that’s my hero since two years.. I’ve always been lazy on body moisturizing. So here we go, problem solved.
I will mention one more product for hair and it is Sebastian Potion 9. If you happen to have curly, wavy hair that looks like you’re just out of bed 24/7 then this one can come handy. And it is not an aggressive styling product, it does good while helping to form your hair, taming the frizz. Thank you Potion 9, I appreciate you !
There we go! I hope you like this post and once more Happy New Year, full of laughter and joy with your loved ones.
See you next time, until then take care!
